Honest Trailer: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

As we await this weekend's opening of the third cinematic incarnation of Roald Dahl's chocolatier Willie Wonka in the new movie Wonka, Screen Junkies takes us back to 2005 with a look at Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. At the time, the backlash was fierce, as if it were blasphemy to besmirch our memories of the 1971 Gene Wilder movie. Yes, the critics told us that this film was more faithful to the original Roald Dahl book, but no one cared. This Wonka was weird! But no matter what you disliked about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Screen Junkies will find more weirdness about it to share with us in this Honest Trailer. Reviewing it now will only make the musical prequel Wonka with Timothée Chalamet easier to swallow.
