Dead Man's Bones
Every Halloween needs a dancing skeleton! Comedian Nathan Barnatt dances all over dressed as the bones of a dead man, accompanied by the 2009 song "Dead Man's Bones" by the group Dead Man's Bones. His lanky, creepy moves are just as you'd imagine a skeleton would dance -if that skeleton were a decent dancer! (via Buzzfeed)

Epic Harry Potter Dance Routine
Walden Grove High School in Sahuarita, Arizona went all out for their Homecoming Assembly, with an elaborate dance modeled on the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The PAC Dance Team and the Advanced Dance club came together for an entertaining recap of the Harry Potter stories, as Harry and his friends battle Voldemort and his evil forces. Well done! Tap Dancing Through the Stars
Postmodern Jukebox is a rotating musical collective that collaborates with singers from all over in all genres, but for this performance, they've tapped a dancer instead (pun intended). Renowned tap dancer Demi Remick has performed with PMJ on the road for years. Here, she dances to a medley of science fiction themes in an act they call "2001: Tap Odyssey." In case you don't recognize all of them (although most of you will), the songs are from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, The X Files, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Trek: The Original Series, and Star Trek: The Next Generation,
Even if you don't care for tap dancing, you'll enjoy Postmodern Jukebox's jazzed-up versions of your favorite sci-fi movie and TV themes. (via Kuriositas)

The Dancing Movies
Diego Carrera made an extremely pleasant music video that uses well-edited dancing clips from movies you've seen. Or at least most of them. They run the gamut from Al Jolson to Emma Stone -and it ends with a clip from 1896. (via Digg)

Lous Cadetouns
The farmers of the Landes region of France used to work on stilts because the ground was so marshy. They could really cover some ground in those things! The tradition lives on in a form of dance. (via Neatorama)

Kentucky Moon
From the days when you had to sing, dance, act, and make people laugh to make it in show business. The Ritz Brothers perform with Tony Martin in this clip from the 1938 movie Kentucky Moonshine.

This Dance Will Make You Hurt
Ukrainians are hardcore. Maxim Mitinsky of the Pavlo Virsky National Ensemble in Kyiv shows us how it's done. The best dancers you know might be able to keep this up for a few seconds, but he just keeps going and going. I think the algorithm showed me this video because I spend too much time at YouTube and need to get up and exercise.

Aie Rama Rama
Every once in a while, it's good to take a Bollywood break and enjoy an over-the-top production number with joyous music and more dancers than Hollywood can afford. (via Everlasting Blort)

Salsa Dances
We've seen plenty of canine freestyle in videos posted here, but it's been a while. The judges and the audience at Britain's Got Talent weren't at all familiar with the art. And Salsa did a lovely job.

Dance Your PhD 2026
Dancer and physicist Sofia Papa of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies’s Biorobotics Institute in Pisa, Italy, is the 2026 winner of Science magazine's annual Dance Your PhD competition. Her choreographed production number titled "Piezodance" illustrates piezoelectricity, the electric charge that accumulates in solid materials under stress. Papa began studying physics in high school because she liked how the science related to art.
There are winners in the categories of physics, biology, chemistry, social sciences, and a new category this year for artificial intelligence research. I particularly enjoyed the winner in chemistry, Dina Haddad of the University of Cambridge, who rapped about a new method of detecting cancer cells in urine by using magnetic nanoparticles to capture DNA. It's a complex test, but would be so much easier o patients than biopsies. The song and dance titled "Magnetic Flow" features pole dancers and toilets.
You can see the winners in all the categories at Science. (via Ars Technica)

Samoan Wedding Dance
A Samoan bride, her mother, and her sister perform a traditional dance at the wedding reception as the crowd goes wild. The bride keeps her beautiful beaming smile throughout, and her head straight to keep the headdress intact. Those who know inform us that people joining in is a tradition that emphasizes the talent and synchronicity of the dancers by contrasting it with their not-so-smooth moves. The napkin-waving symbolizes a blessing to the newlyweds. A joyous occasion, indeed.

A Perfect Game of Sarabande Co-Op
I had to look up a lot of terms to understand this video, but you don't really have to understand it to be impressed. The Sarabande is a dance that dates back about 500 years, and it is notable for being three times as fast as a normal dance. Sarabande 2X Co-Op is a very difficult video game that uses a sarabande song at 157 beats per minute. It's played on the Pump It Up arcade game console that you play with your feet, like Dance Dance Revolution, except there are five foot pads, or ten if you play with a partner. Got all that?
Gamers ElijahTS and Tomatonium recently became the first team ever to finish this truly difficult game with a perfect score, during a livestream with plenty of witnesses. This is not just watching two guys play a video game; this is serious fancy footwork. They don't really get going until about 50 seconds into the video, and by then you'll be glad you stuck with it. Spider-Man Dances!
Spider-Man doesn't spend all his time fighting crime. Every once in a while, he has to go out and pick up a few things at the store. And if there's a good song playing, he gets the urge to dance! YouTuber Ghetto Spider put on a show for other shoppers, who all pulled out their phones because no one would believe this otherwise. (via mille batson)

Dancing with the Neighbors
Michael Callaghan decided it was time that he got to know his neighbors, and he came up with a genius way to do it: ask them for a favor, and make it fun! He went door to door and asked each neighbor to come over and dance with him for a music video. He didn't mention if anyone refused, but plenty of them said yes. While you're doing something like this, you get to know their names, interests, and how friendly they are. Or at least how well they dance. When he throws a party, he'll know exactly who to invite. He's trying to start a trend with #NeighborDanceChallenge. We'll see how that goes. (via Tastefully Offensive)

Humanoid Robots Dancing with Children
The annual Spring Festival Gala is a "must see" TV production in China, broadcast on the eve of the Lunar New year. This year's show featured dancing by humanoid robots developed by several Chinese robotics firms. The robots danced, flipped, jumped, and performed martial arts moves. They were joined by a group of children dancing onstage, which was impressive due to the danger it implied. This performance was designed to impress the world, but Western roboticists emphasize that dancing robots don't need to have situational awareness in order to adapt to changing conditions like industrial robots would. But they can sure put on a show. (via Laughing Squid)

Dancing Cougar
How do you make a dance team's routine much cooler? Put a talented dancer in an animal costume! We learned that watching the cheerleader wearing a T-rex costume for Halloween. So watch the BYU Cougarettes get upstaged by the mascot Cosmo Cougar at a football game. They're all excellent dancers, but who can resist a dancing wild cat in football uniform? (via reddit)
