Any Girl Scout badge that has ever been offered can still be earned. If a scout can find the requirements, complete them and have it verified by their leader, that badge can still be earned. However, retired badges are no longer for sale at Girl Scouts. As the article has pointed out, you can find retired badges on Etsy or Ebay. As a current Girl Scout volunteer, just wanted to point out that you can still earn the badges and it is actually a fun exercise to go through old GS handbooks to find badges to earn. And yes, there are badges that by today's standards, are cringe-worthy.
