Kolo, that's correct. Those are the names of the horses.
> 8. "...they had no books or reading material of any kind, except there would usually be, like, two sections of the WSJ and a running magazine lying around. But no books."
I like John Waters comment about people with no books.

Wow, I keep my books in my office, which is only accessible through the bedroom. Guests must think I'm illiterate.
Who am I kidding? I don't have any guests.
Disney is all of a sudden having some
issues with the public, i.e., their
customer base. In Rachel Zeglar's case,
the Film Academy stepped in and has
invited her to present at the Oscars.
As for the Oscar's, well, 2020 TV
viewership was 23.6M, 2021 was 9.9M.
Perhaps after this year they will go
away. To quote Shakespeare,"I do desire
we may be better strangers." Way better.
The 2021 Oscars followed a year when most folks couldn't or wouldn't go to movies so lost interest.
For book judgement, three years ago I started giving away all my books. I couldn't see hoarding them and I wasn't going to read them again. The girl I gave a complete set of Harry Potter hardbacks to, I was afraid she would pee on my floor from excitement.
With many of the Blast from the Past links to Mental Floss I can't see the pictures. It shows a blue rectangle with a yellow circle and MF in the middle where the picture should be.
The announcer for the horse race kept his cool with these weird horse names (which lots of horses have), but then it slips out:
"My wife knows everything, My wife doesn't know, they are one-two, because of course they are"
Nearing the end with the 1st/2nd place runners:
"My wife knows everything...The wife doesn't know"
And after the end:
"My wife knows everything...more than My wife doesn't know"
Sounds like he had a bit of fun with it.
At first I thought the call of the horse race clip was a case of where someone found a video, watched it, wrote a script that matched the action but used the comical names (and practiced the hell out of it), then finally dubbed it over the video in place of the actual race announcer's call. I mean, c'mon, seriously? What are the odds of two horses having such similar names, racing in the same event, and finishing one-two?
But then I found this website –

It's dated Aug 25th, 2010, which corresponds favorably with the date and time display showing that this was the 7th race at Monmouth, NJ on Sunday, August 22nd.
Proof that Mark Twain was right when he wrote, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t."
