Dragnet was a TV series in the 1950s and '60s about police work. This is not that. The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson invited Jack Webb to recreate the show for a parody that's as memorable as any of the cases on the real show. The whole thing is a tongue twister that just goes on and on.

I saw that live ( well I think it was on tape but first showing), it was and is amazing neither one of them flubbed a line or cracked up. I think Carson came close to losing it but made it all the way. One of those moments that stands tall in the years of ho hum TV.
Epic. This never gets tired.
This is just one more example of why, no matter who they trot out to try to take his place, there will never be another late-night talk-show host like Johnny Carson.
