That was real.   What you were seeing was a newbie skier trying to walk down slippery steps in rigid ski boots that don't flex, not even a little bit, after one too many hot buttered rums at the Sitzplatz Lounge in the chalet.

I am not so sure that rum was involved, definitely a newb. I worked at Seven Springs (almost 50 years ago) as a medical tech (read EMT). Most of the call for injuries were people falling because they had never worn the rigid ski boots before. We had plenty of knee injuries and even broken bones before the injured person even got on the skis. Most boots today have a "walk mode," which allows the boot to flex for walking or hiking.

Gotta tell ya Miss C, I really like having
you around because my weirdness doesn't
look so weird when you're doing it too.

Keep it up. Happy Friday!

Unfortunately, Brookside AL, is not the twilight zone, it's becoming more common. Bully cops taking over small departments and raising more revenue by hook or by crook to become a political force as the town becomes more dependant on them. The good cops look for jobs elsewhere and the bully cops demand more military-esque hardware and training. I've seen it happen in MA and PA. It's a shame that the small percentage of bully cops sow mistrust by the public of the majority of decent cops, but it's human nature, if a squirrel bites you then you'll be wary of all squirrels.
