To everyone who's ever said Government should be run more like a business, congratulations; you got your wish. Anyone who's ever been caught within a mismanaged corporation where problems have gone unaddressed or allowed to fester should know what eventually happens. The Board (or CEO) brings someone in to fix it. It's almost always ugly and there are always good people caught up in the mess who get discarded. The worst part for some companies is that it's a business cycle that just repeats. I've seen, experienced, and survived it multiple times. And you can see it today in companies like Boeing, Intel, and CNN. You can't run the Government like a business because politics and compromise are needed to succeed. Having said all this, count me firmly in with those who believe the Federal Bureaucracy was allowed to get too big and too unwieldy and is in dire need of a reset. It will not be pretty but the whole fascist dictatorship line of thinking is a bunch of crap that only makes things worse and really needs to stop.
Happy Friday Miss C!
Government should not be run like a business, even if that business is run perfectly. Business has a goal of making money. Government's goal should be to provide needed services for its people.
Happy Friday, gwdMaine!
Hi gwdMaine, nice to meet you! Unfortunately a fascist dictatorship is exactly what you're going into full speed. And even more unfortunately for the rest of the world, your fascism will legitimize similar politics in other countries (it's already happening here in Italy as I write). 2020s fascists will not wear black shirts, not necessarily, but they will definitely act like fascists.
Hey Massimo, greetings! I don't like the term 'fascist' being thrown around so casually in the U.S. We don't have your, and the rest of Europe's history. Our Democracies are different. Your four political parties to our two along with a President and Prime Minister. Then throw in the European Union. It's all very fragmented and things have been in disarray over there from the very beginning. What we have in common though are government officials with their own agendas working together to undermine whoever is in charge. It's just easier to do that in Italy. I can appreciate your concern.
