If you look closely, you can see how this happened. The sign is printed on six 8x10 sheets, only a couple of words at a time. They should have been assembled in one column. (via Slow Robot)

I remember those old school measurements based on an English king's body parts ... for me 8x10 is the size of a prison cell, but if we are staying with old English things, I'd best call it a gaol.
Weird tho', 'cos 8 feet wide is actually (based on my foot which is 290mm) 2.32 metres, which is, when converted for everyone outside the now Orange States of America, 7.61 feet imperial, a lot closer to 8 feets than I thought it was going to be.
