Coincidence?

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

Yet some are blaming the crash on Pete Buttigieg or DEI. (via Fark)

Totally coincidence. I ran this post with the Doucette info past a family member who is an air traffic controlled. His reply:

"The idea that a midair could be the fault of policies nine days old is ludicrous. If NATCA members thought ATC was included it is because they were either ignorant of the memo or intentionally trying to stir up concern, like Rep. Cohen and another did on Jan. 22; even the NATCA president said on 2 Feb. that the "freeze" had been lifted for days (see URL below). I just verified with my union rep that there never was an ATC hiring freeze. We are a safety related job, and ATC was not part of the freeze nor eligible for the buyout/resignation."

Air traffic controllers were NOT part of the hiring freeze.
