At last we get to hear the "new" Beatles song titles "Now and Then." This technological miracle was constructed in parts over many years. John Lennon recorded a demo of a song he wrote in the 1970s, but it only existed on a one cassette tape. In 1995, the remaining three Beatles experimented with recording it for their album The Beatles Anthology, but there was too much noise in the cassette. Fast forward to 2022, and the technology to separate John's vocals and clean them up were available. But George Harrison died in 2001. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr dug up Harrison's guitar work from the 1995 sessions, mixed those in, and added their own current recordings. So what we have a a real new song from all four Beatles. It's not bad, it's good, but not great.
It doesn't have the grunt, the power, of the four in a studio or on stage.
