Matt Shirley is surely making plans for going somewhere in the near future. This map is surely going to spark arguments. I haven't been to all the states, but I have at least passed through most of them, and I can't make any good arguments against his classifications. New Mexico is definitely not a place to go on the way to somewhere better– apart from the fabulous nature and ruins and national parks you have Santa Fe, Taos, Los Alamos and ROSWELL where even UFOs visit!
Born in raised in New Mexico, and I never know how to feel about these images. Like, on the one hand my state is gorgeous and y'all just don't even know. OTOH, piss off, don't come to my state and mess it up.

Yeah, whatever you do stay away from New Mexico with all those mountain vistas, diverse ecological and all that variety of native food. All terrible, terrible. Stay away at all cost!
