What's Up With Social Security?

The Social Security program began in 1935 when President Franklin Roosevelt signed it into law. At the time, 50% of all elderly Americans lived in poverty. The entire program is an example of socialism, or the many coming together to take care of those who need it. I know lots of people who constantly decry socialism (which they confuse with communism) but yet depend on Social Security.

However, almost 90 years later, the program needs to change to stay solvent for the future. Raising the retirement age has helped a little, but the real solution would be to get the rich to pay more into it. As it is, those who have the most contribute the least.
