This is what happens when you have a large garage, lots of tools, and a hankering to do something different during a pandemic lockdown. Dan Hryhorcoff built a classic bumper car twice its normal size. The vehicle is modeled after a 1953 Murray General bumper car he studied at Knoebels amusement park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. He carefully copied each piece of the shell, enlarged it, and molded it in fiberglass. The working guts combine parts from a Chevrolet Aveo and a single motorcycle wheel for the front. The resulting vehicle is completely street legal, although not quite suitable for driving in the rain. Hryhorcoff isn't new to the hobby of fiberglass fabrication- his previous project was a fully functional submarine. (via Everlasting Blort)
