Ah yes, there was a time when I was much younger that I could have a cold for a couple of days before I even thought about it. I never took time off work to be sick because this is America, where you don't get paid if you don't work. My employers never much cared if someone spread it around because they knew everyone else would work sick, too. Things changed drastically in 2020, when a cough suddenly could mean a death sentence. I have a cough and nasal congestion right now, and there are no covid tests to be had, so I am isolating (easy to do when you work from home and live alone). But thanks to vaccines, it's not bad and I'm not worried. This comic is from Randall Munroe at xkcd.
