You assume right!
It's funny but it's accidentally a really good idea. Dachshunds are hunting dogs and the reason they are that shape is precisely because they can get into small spaces that larger dogs can't. I think they could function very well as contraband sniffer dogs.
I guess this means that the Woomera Experimental INspection, Extraction, and Rescue dog squad was a success.
