Suggestion ... when there is a possibility of mistaking an abbreviation or acronym, spell it out.  You make a reference to the marri trees of WA (Western Australia), but I think most of your readers would look at that and see 'Washington', as WA is the two-letter postal abbreviation for the Evergreen State.
