The pumpkin pie story...

NO! Pumpkin SPICE, NO PUMPKIN, just the spice used in pumpkin pie which is a mixture of Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and ginger. Pumpkin has a very mild flavor which is why the spices are needed.

Pumpkin cake sounds interesting.

I really like pumpkin cheesecake; better than pumpkin pie.
