The Munching of the Flowers

Sunflower Farm Creamery sells goat cheese, Nigerian dwarf goat kids, and other products. But since "sunflower" is in the name, they are obligated to grow sunflowers. Not that this is a burden, but with all these goats around, the sunflowers have to be fenced off to flourish. In autumn, when the plants decline and the flowers hang heavy with seed, the day comes when the fence is opened up and the goats scurry to eat the delicious sunflowers, stem, seeds, leaves, and all. The annual Feast of the Sunflowers is a happy occasion, because after all, sometimes you just gotta stop and eat the flowers.
