The Helen Woodward Animal Center in California took in a litter of playful white puppies. One of them, named Star, was deaf and almost totally blind. But she seemed to get around fairly well, thank to her brother Denver. He was not only her playmate, he was her seeing-eye dog! Star is surprisingly capable on her own, but she and Denver are devoted to each other, and the shelter saw that they could not be separated. Would anyone take in two energetic young dogs at once, when one has serious special needs?
