NASA being cute on Twitter earlier today. Did you see the eclipse? There was 93% coverage here, but most of the day was cloudy. The clouds moved out of the way just in time for me to witness probably the last crescent sun of my lifetime. It was awesome. However, it never got dark, which is a testament to the power of the sun that only 7% of it was plenty enough to make daylight.Oops I did it again 🤠#TotalSolarEclipse pic.twitter.com/JXPe26qq3Q

Out here on the Lost Coast of CA we had 26% coverage, but it was enough to make a noticeable difference in ambient light.
We drove up to Plattsburg NY to view the totality and it was AWESOME. It got dark for 3 and a half minutes. Just before and after the light around all us spectators in the park in the middle of town was... weird. When the totality began everybody started howling like dogs, which in itself was awesome. You could look at it with the naked eye and you could also see the planet Venus nearby. You could also see red spots at the bottom of the disk, which was probably solar flares but may also have been the habitations of very warm aliens who live on the sun. When the light returned it honestly felt like some kind of transformation took place here on Earth. Let's do it again!
