Coco's Big Leap

Alice Reid of Dildo, Newfoundland and Labrador, saw a stray dog in her neighborhood and was concerned about her three-year-old orange cat Coco. Coco had seen the dog, too, and found safety by climbing to the top of a utility pole!

Coco was crying for help from the top of the pole for about an hour. Reid and her husband tried coaxing Coco down from a ladder, but it was way too short to reach him. The eventually called the power company, who sent a worker out to go retrieve the cat. And that's when Coco decided that leaping would be a the lesser of two dangers. You might think that the pole climber did all this work for nothing, but if he hadn't scared Coco into jumping, the cat may have stayed up on the pole for days. No one saw if the cat landed on his feet because of all bushes, but he managed to run away unscathed and was soon reunited with his family, and he now has a viral video that documents his amazing leap. Cat interest surpasses human interest in most markets.
So the cat was missing a front leg because it clearly had two in back.
