How White Castle Built Their Slyder Kingdom

The first White Castle hamburger shop debuted in Wichita in 1921. That was 27 years before the McDonald brothers opened their hamburger stand that was the template for McDonald's! For more than 100 years now, White Castle has been ahead of the curve, with innovations in recipe development, efficiency, take out, grocery access, branding, and advertising. And the chain is still owned by the same family. You can make fun of White Castle sliders all you want, but you can't argue with success.

I do enjoy a little White Castle indulgence once every couple of years...
My primary complaint, and why I don't go there more often, is the next day I can always smell White Castle on my skin, seeping out of my pores.

I remember one commercial of theirs I thought was great: a White Castle floating in space and the USS Enterprise stops at the drive-through and orders something like 435 hamburgers, 356 cheeseburgers, hundreds of orders of fries, and gallons of drinks.
