How High Can a Kia Jump?

Anoop Khatra caught this spectacular crash Thursday on the Ronald Reagan Freeway in Los Angeles. Notice how the tire came back a second time to get one last punch. The Kia Soul was certainly engineered to handle this kind of accident. We can see the curtain airbags deployed. And the driver was able to walk away. (via reddit)

Look at how far outside the fender wells the wheels and tires appear to be on the pickup truck (the one that lost the wheel in the first place).  Can't help but think that the guy with the pickup truck probably tried to trick out their ride with non-standard wheels and tires which didn't fit quite right, but figured it would still work out OK.  Surprise, surprise!!

Yeah, they're called tire spacers. The comments tell me they are for looks only, and are a menace to safety.

I have seen this many times; I am surprised on how high the Kia flew.

Spacers are bad news, sooner or later they'll bite your butt. They don't have to break off, the undue forces they cause on the suspension and especially the steering gear will tear a vehicle up in a shortened time frame.
