Most people are looking at this and admiring the interaction. I am watching and thinking, lord, I hope that is a very tiny primate and not a giant insect.

Not really an interaction... the primate's looking for lunch. And yes, it's really small.
Judging from the katydid-type insect this is one-a those that fit into a teacup. The katy (to my IN-experienced eye)looks like it might be Amazonian. So, larger than most.

Everything must be sorted into food and not food categories. So anything he hasn't seen before must be investigated.
Size of the insect and primate is not a problem unless it's a Jap movie. In that case don't stand there watching, just run like hell.
