UFO

Well, this is intriguing. UFO was a British science fiction TV series that aired 26 episodes in 1970. I have never heard of it before today. The premise is that in 1980, aliens have invaded the earth to abduct humans... in the far-off future of 1980. A secret international military organization is fighting against them. This show was the first live-action TV series from Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson, who you know as the developers of Supermarionation, which gave us Fireball XL-5 and Thunderbirds, among other series featuring puppets. It looks like most, if not all, the episodes are free to watch on Amazon Prime. (via Metafilter)

If you like that, you'll love Star Maidens, a 70s British tv series with the preposterous premise of an alien planet ruled by women!?!

Very popular in Europe in the 70's, mostly in Italy. I started to love science fiction in all its forms as a child thanks to U.F.O. SHADO
I was lucky enough to meet my childhood sweetheart and hero Mr. Ed Bishop and. Mr. Michael Billington too (may they rest in peace)
