A finch is already a very tiny bird, that lays very tiny eggs. If everything goes well, they hatch into tiny little chicks. But things went a bit sideways with this one. Bird rescuer Alwyn Wils took in a zebra finch who laid an egg on the way home. Finches won't accept an egg that was not laid in the nest. Could he save the hatchling, too? The new finch resembles a fragile undercooked alien being, and the challenge was to keep it warm and fed without a mother. Watch human hands do what Mother Nature couldn't for the tiniest bird you've ever seen. The last minute of this video makes it worth your time sitting on the edge of your seat during the first part.
