If you are a teacher, or the parent of a student, the August calendar will look quite different, with target dates, activities, and deadlines written all over it. If you are European (or an American congressman), the whole thing would just say "vacation." But for the rest of us, this captures August rather well- a month we just endure until we can get back to normal weather (as if we ever will) and holidays. In a normal year, I would spend August canning tomatoes, but the crop is too small this year to dedicate much time to that. This calendar is brought to you by Matt Shirley.

'What if most of Mrs. Cellania's readers lived in the Southern Hemisphere, then charts like this would be so redumbdant' ... he said while shivering through winter.
It could be true, there are over 60 million people in southern Africa, 25 million in Australia, 5 million in NZ, 14 million English speakers in South America ... that's a possible readership of over a hundred million ... all of them thinking 'What ? It's the middle of winter'.
What if New Zealand is actually in the Northern Hemisphere because the Earth is upside down?
Everybody I know has trouble with their tomatoes this year. What up with that?
