How is it "donating" if you get paid for it?

If you donate every 28 days, the semester is going to be over before you get that $250. And books may be cheaper there, but here $250 might buy you the books for only 1 of your subjects.

That's Will Ferrell, isn't it?

Vireya, you have to wait weeks to donate blood, but you can "donate" (or sell) plasma twice a week. I did it in college 40+ years ago, when plasma was only ten dollars. It takes about four hours out of your day, but even that was above minimum wage at the time.

See, they separate the red blood cells from the plasma, and put the red blood cells back into you. That way, you don't suffer anemia, and can come back in a couple of days.

Well that was an interesting insight into your system. Thanks.

Here, you can donate plasma every 2 weeks (not 28 days as I said above), and you don't get paid anything. It is a donation.
Blood donations can be every 12 weeks. (Also no money involved.)

Pre-covid I was donating blood on a somewhat irregular basis (in the US). Over the years I've donated gallons and gallons. I've occasionally gotten a free t-shirt, but never any money.
