Why Are Humans Relatively Hairless?

Our closet primate relatives -and most mammals, for that matter- are covered with fur. How did humans go hairless? And why do we have hair in the few places we do? This TED Ed lesson from Nina G. Jablonski fills us in on what we know and don't know about the way human hair evolved. (via Digg)

An oddly coy video. What about pubic hair?

Debra, you haven't kept up on porn, nobody has that hair anymore. LoL

Since I'm relatively furry I think it means god designed me to be sedentary... I must obey.

We've learned something new today... Bruce has no hair down there. I wouldn't go so far as to say "nobody has that hair"!

Pubic hair signifies adulthood, no pubic hair is what children have and so that has no attraction for me.
And no pubic hair looks like Voldemort's face, if you need any other reason to JUST. NOT. SHAVE. DOWN. THERE.

Trim by all means though.

Of course the true reason we humans have so little hair is because the aliens need no extra warmth on their planet, and when they cross bred with the simians the genes were diluted.
And yes, bald people are closer to the aliens than hirsute people.
