I remember when Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered, 50 years ago. My parents thought it was horrible. The next day at school, quite a few kids parroted what their parents said, that they were glad he was dead. I was a bit shocked to hear those words from kids who'd never said a word about racism before. It was an eye-opener. It turns out that most white people didn't like MLK.
