Was it really 40 years ago? It seems like yesterday. This mega-compilation of music snippets put me right back into 1984. I was 25 and worked at a pop music radio station. Most of these songs remind me of a particular person or event of that year. All 180 songs are listed here. (via Metafilter)

Dammit, I feel old now.
40 years since age 16.
And just like you I felt many memories awoken by that compilation.
What strikes me about this is how many songs an individual artist/group put out that year. It makes sense when I think about it because the biggies were putting out albums not singles.

I graduated from high school in '84, I'd forgotten a lot of these but will now annoy my husband by playing 80's hits all weekend (he's a child of the 70's and hates 80's pop). Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
