As a preview for the full series, PBS brings us the first few minutes of NAZI TOWN, USA, an episode of The American Experience. The premiere of the full full episode is Tuesday night (January 23rd) on PBS. I'm reminded of people who say "This is not who we are." Well, yes it is, and as a group, this is who we have always been. But is it who we want to be?

All these people were in the midst of the depression they didn't create or understand. People needed a common cause to rally around. Germany was doing better than anyone else, building infrastructure which created jobs, so their system must be better. Nazis say Negros and Jews are the problem, and no one is arguing contrary except Negroes and Jews. So new haters were created and old haters were all "I told you so".
