Re: the horror movies. The link takes you to the last slide (#1 movie) rather than the first. Not sure if that is on purpose or not.

Baked beans was one of the two things my mother made well. No digging holes in the ground, ten pounds at a time in an enameled roaster pan.
Ten lbs of yellow eyes and they're OK, oven baked all night, after soaking all day.

Watching the wood carving I noticed the lamp right away. I'd seen this demonstrated at Old Sturbridge Village in MA. They used water in clear glass to concentrate candle light for reading or crafts.
