But really now… As viewed from above, alligators have rounded, U-shaped snouts, while crocodiles have pointy snouts. Normally I would not want to get close enough to see them "from above", but I did visit Crocodile Encounter (which has both) south of Houston just last week.

To be clear, the one on that side is the crocodile, while the one on that side is an alligator. You're welcome.
I had always heard that you see an alligator later, but you see a crocodile after a while.

Because of their snouts, alligators eat babies in an 'A' shape while crocodiles eat babies in a 'C' shape
