Re: that simple home with a genius design - many homes are like this when there is a great view from the second floor. like on a sea or lake shore.
Friends of ours had a house in Mexico. It started as a single level 2-bedroom house with the living room overlooking the Sea of Cortez. A previous owner than added a second floor that was basically a studio apartment-looking place with two decks. The views were incredible.
