Several years back, there were a couple of somewhat ignominious studies:
-- The more time a person lives under a democracy, the more likely she or he is to support democracy.
-- Northwestern University Scientists Discover a Difference Between the Sexes.
Given today's environment, I think both of these need to be re-examined. Too late though to replace the Moose Crash Ig winner. Coming from someone who lives in a high (fatal) moose crash state, it is as you said quite useful.

I remember watching a Mythbusters episode about Alaskan driving, and one of the things they wanted to test was whether it was better, if you were going to hit a moose, to brake to try to reduce the impact (and then hope it didn't come up onto the hood and through the windshield), or to just plow right ahead and through the moose, hoping that the impact will flip it up and over the vehicle. They had to construct a moose analog, taking into account the weight of the average moose and how tall it stood (spoiler ... they're a heckuvalot taller than even the biggest deer you might have seen), as well as the placement of that weight and the resulting center of mass/gravity, and then conduct their experiments.
So, yeah, if you're going to be running vehicles in an area with a large population of moose, a moose crash test dummy makes more sense than it first sounds.
