Love the philosopher raccoons!

True raccoon story: Small West Virginia
town had a rabies scare a few years
back. Raccoons were disoriented and
could barely walk. They were caught
and it turned out they were drunk from
eating fermented crab apples.

On other note, that was one of the
most complete Bored Panda lists I've
read in quite some time. Great post.

Happy Friday Miss C!

Hard for me to get my head around people in MD not being aware of, hadn't heard of, the civil rights struggle. Even if they came from another country of it happened before they were born.

People from other countries are not expected to know American history, unless they study to become a citizen. I know more of other country's histories than anyone I know in real life, but I still know very little overall.

What shocks me is how little Americans these days know about kit.

I don't even know who Kit is, let alone the history of Chef Boyardee.

Oops, sorry about the typo.

According to chefboyardee.com, the first restaurant was opened in Cleveland, OH not NY.

"Today Chef Boyardee is served at home, but did you know Chef Hector Boiardi’s pastas were first enjoyed in a restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio? Like many young chefs, Hector Boiardi dreamed of owning his own restaurant. With the help of his wife, Helen, Hector’s restaurant, Il Giardino d’Italia, opened its doors in 1924, in Cleveland. The name means “Garden of Italy,” and Chef Hector’s garden was quickly in full bloom with lines that stretched out the door!"

The Chef Boyardee article doesn't specify where the first restaurant he owned was. He cooked in Italy and New York for other restauranteurs first.
