Twist Tie

The headline at reddit was "Things you don't think you need to teach a teen: how to close a twist tie."

There are two kinds of kids. There are those who watch everything Mommy and Daddy do, so they can learn to do it, too, and then there those who never even think about observing. They just try all this stuff by assumption. I have one of each kind, now adults, who are navigating the world in very different ways.  (via reddit)

LOL. You put that in a very kind and non-judgemental way.

In the mammalian world, there's a really good reason human children stay with their parents for at least 17 years before being sent into the wild. And yes, I know, some will argue that's still too short a time.
