An Explanation of Sorts

You might have noticed that this site was a little thin on content for the past couple of weeks. The week of January 16th, nothing ran at all that wasn't scheduled ahead of time. That's because my husband died of a sudden heart attack in his sleep. I didn't even think about posting for the rest of the week, and even after that, I couldn't write about it. It's taken me this long to decide whether to tell anyone on the 'net.

However, I did make kind of a deal about getting married in 2009. It would be embarrassing for people to ask me about "Mr. Cellania," and cumbersome for me to explain to people one by one, so that's why I'm announcing it now.

He was a wonderful guy, and we were very happy together. He took really good care of me. He had seven kids: five that he already had, and my two, who he adopted a couple years ago. Now they are all grown, and we were planning how to spend our old age together. And suddenly,  I've got to start over and figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life.

I have support from my family, friends, and church. And I'm back at work, posting at three blogs to keep me going. I'll be alright, eventually.

Don't worry about your website, you have more pressing matters to focus on.

Oh Miss C - I am so deeply and terribly sorry for your loss! I wish I could give you real hugs instead of virtual ones. You always provide so much in the way of enjoyment and humor for all of us, I hope we can return the favor in support. Don't worry about us, take care of yourself first!

I can only echo what others have already said. I am so sorry to hear your sad news, but glad to hear you have love and support around you.

I was happy for you when you got married and now I am so sad that your husband passed away. Of course people will say things like he didn't suffer and be thankful for the time you had together but his absence will HURT for a long time. I am glad you have people to support you. Try to be around those you love even if you don't feel like it. Only time will make the pain less. Thinking of you from Greece.

Dear Miss Cellania, I am really sorry for you loss. Take all the time you need to figure things out. In the meantime I just wanted to thank you for all the great joy and fun and thoughts your links always give me: you are one of the reasons why the Internet is still a great place no matter what. You're always gentle with worlds bat always deep with ideas (does that mean something in English? sorry, it's not my mother tongue, Italy here) and I will always look forward to reading your things.

Love to you and your family,
Massimo

I am a daily reader, because I love your blog. I ws very sorry to hear about your husband. The shock and the grief must be terrible. Take all the time you need; if content stays thin for a while, so many of us will understand!

Oh no, I'm so terribly sorry, Miss C. Your blog has given me a lot of laughs and a lot of new information. I read you several times a day. I have been wondering about the death in your family that you mentioned in a comment; I thought it might be Arbroath, but I see that it was much more personal than that. Thank you for telling us. Again, I am so sad for you and your family.

I'm glad you have your family, friends, and especially your church. I have recently celebrated the life of a very dear church member who died suddenly in his sleep and the shock and pain of such a death reverberate throughout a community.

I am keeping you all in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed your site for many years along with your posting about your family: the girls growing up, finding your man and the renovation of the house to fit the new family.
You will be in my thoughts.

Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn.
You're smart and strong so you'll survive, but it's going to leave a deep scar. You and the kids have each other to draw strength from, strength we outsiders can only wish for you.

Condolences become platitudes, but behind them we really do care, more than you can imagine. I hope you'll quickly find relief from your current turmoil, and time brings you peace.

Take care of you, we aren't going away.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. I was so happy for you when you got married - what came across in your posts was happiness. All the related posts about your husband, the kids, rehabbing the house, the cats; it all seemed so right. I am so glad you had that. To have that taken away is so wrong and unfair, and that's kind of how life is. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's good and sometimes it sucks more than you thought possible. I wish you and your family the best. I have a feeling you will soldier through learning to live with the pain and loss. But I hope you have good times, moments of sunshine and lots of great memories to keep you going.
