Confessions of an Idiom

What happens when the elephant in the room confronts the skeleton in the closet? That’s far from the only turns of speech that go head-to-head in this sequence. Someone who is just learning English would be completely baffled! This award-winning video was made by Amanda Koh and Mollie Helms at Ringling College of Art + Design. (via Metafilter

Speaking as one with an interesting, but relatively useless degree in Linguistics, I think this is hysterical!!

The run-down of idioms in the credits was incomplete ... I noticed 'crocodile tears' as well as 'vanish like a puff of smoke' during the course of the video, and of course the ending where the skeleton 'laughs his ass off', but they were missing from the credit list.

I thought it was "vanishing IN a puff of smoke" but that may be regional differences, I missed the other two which after you mentioned them prompted a forehead slap. LoL
