The LEGO Ghostbusters Movie

Monsieur Caron of BrickFun spent all summer working on a LEGO movie version of Ghostbusters. Now that school is about to start, he must go back to teaching history. But what a great project to show his students! And you may be surprised and delighted by who gets to play the role of Slimer in this. The behind-the-scenes video is pretty cool, too! An ECTO-1 Lego ambulance?  Fully-detailed minifigs with eerily accurate facial expressions and costumes painted directly onto them?  And, of course, the adult-level, multiple-piece sets that rival jigsaw puzzles in their complexity, could torpedo most household budgets with their cost, and can only be 'correctly' assembled one particular way – and once completed, are never to be played with and suitable only for display under glass, lock, and key.

I find it somewhat disturbing that a toy system (Legos) that was designed to spur creativity and free expression has morphed into a mega-company with so many distinct and highly specific pieces.

BB: LEGO has sets for all ages and price ranges.

There is a group of adults that still like to play with LEGO and have the budgets for the ECTO-1 set as well as the other larger or more complex sets.
