I dragged myself out of bed because the recycling truck comes this morning and I didn't put the bin out last night (picture Bob Odenkirk in the film Nobody)
The uncut grass has pale white tips from the frost, the car windows have gone all secret ... and I come back in to multiple cats snuggled under the duvet enjoying the lekky blanket.
Northern hemisphere is probably just one huge sunny beach right now, children's laughter, teenage girls in bikinis, toned boys nearly men tinkering with soon to be classics, ols geezers like me mowing lawns, the fresh chopped grass smell competing with the aromatic sizzle of many neighbourhood bbqs.
Duvet. Pronounced DO VAY because it is a French word (they don't celebrate May the Cinco) ... called a doona in Australia. Basically two nice sheets nailed together at the edges after being stuffed with plucked bird fur if you're wealthy, many esters of poly if you are like me. Really rich people have them with removable sheets.
I'm surprised you don't have them in America, they make bed making a breeze !
We have them in America. We call them comforters or quilts, depending on how much stitching there is. We also have duvet covers, but that's rare because the original purpose of washing to covers and not the filling is unnecessary when the filling is now just as washable.
