The Fellowship of the Triforce

Nintendo informed us last fall that they are making a live-action movie version of The Legend of Zelda. The director is Wes Ball, who says that this film will be "like a live-action Hayao Miyazaki movie." Ball specifically said it will not be as dark as The Lord of the Rings.

Which just makes us wonder what LOTR director Peter Jackson would do with the material. The landscapes would be lovely sweeping vistas, and the action would be fierce and realistic. We would get to know the characters, and care about their fates. Jackson would fall back into his old habits as far as casting was concerned, but he could make it work. Orlando Bloom is 47, a bit old now to play Link, but he'll do in a pinch until the next guy is discovered (please don't let it be Timothée Chalamet; he's done enough). And it would be even better than this AI-generated parody. Besides, we would finally get to hear Link speak, as he does in this fictional trailer by Curious Refuge. (via Geeks Are Sexy)
