Content has been thin the last couple of days, because I was completely offline. We had a short but severe summer storm that brought down a lot of neighborhood tree branches, and a few whole trees. I'm surprised we had power after that, but the cable was down for a day and a half. Since I pre-load a lot of the pictures here, you might not have even realized it. But I'm back and ready to post!
Without internet, I got an awful lot of other chores done, but also realized how dependent I am. My neighbor was gone during the storm, so I thought about contacting him but don't have his phone number. Oh, I'll contact his girlfriend on social media! Uh, no. I'd think of something productive I should do, and the first impulse was to look up how to do it. And at least once an hour, I wanted to check the weather forecast.
I had to call one of my kids on her vacation trip to email Alex at Neatorama, because I couldn't find his phone number (I swear it's here somewhere). Then I realized that I have never actually talked to him by phone, much less met him, and I've been working for him for 16 years!
Modern life is weird.
