Farts are funny in any historical era. People don't change that much.

Didn't know about burning blueberry fields. Driving across Canada on Labor Day weekend several years in a row they were burning off the wheat fields. Lit at the edge of the road the line of fire miles long would creep over the rolling hills. There would usually be a pickup parked at the corners of the field which I assumed was someone keeping an eye on things.
