Ms Chung's story is interesting, something I hadn't thought about. I'd assumed if the parents were cool it was OK for the kid.
Believe me, there are a ton of ethical issues to confront over adoption, especially international and transracial adoption. It's tragic that so many parents still try to avoid them.

Since that was only a reddit thread checking for legal advice, we don't know. The guy was determined to save his child, and the advice he got was to do it, so let's assume he did. Or maybe the whole story was made up, who knows?
