The Art of Manliness shows you how to shave the old-fashioned way, like your grandpa did, with proper shaving cream and a double-edge safety razor. This kind of shave is economical, environmentally-friendly, and results in a better overall shave compared to using modern disposable razors. And the best part:
You’ll feel like a bad ass. It’s nice taking part in a ritual that great men like your grandfather, John F. Kennedy, and Teddy Roosevelt took part in.Find complete instructions and links to recommended products at The Art of Manliness. (Thanks, Brett!)

Manly is using a leather-stropped straight razor...
That's how I started shaving. Between dull blades and teen acne it was a bloody mess that didn't improve my looks any.
"environmentally-friendly" until they open the wall where the medicine cabinet had a slot to dispose of years of used double edged blades. LoL
Well, having them safely behind sheet rock or whatever had to be better than what they do now with all the 'sharps' like insulin needles and test lancets that are now tossed into collection buckets in bathrooms and have to handled and disposed of as a potential bio-hazard.
Also ... those walls aren't usually 'opened' until the building is torn down or the bathroom remodeled. And those blades were so thin and the bathroom humidity so high that I suspect a lot of those discarded blades have become little more than piles of rusty dust by now.
And if not, then there they all are, in a relatively compact pile between a pair of wall studs, ready to be picked up with a magnet and then disposed of some other 'environmentally-friendly' manner.
