Based on a true story, The Inn of the Sixth Happiness was fictionalized enough to make a classic Hollywood movie. Ingrid Bergman is Gladys Aylward, who went to China and spent her life serving the people there. She looked nothing like Ingrid Bergman, and didn’t have the romance the movie portrays, but otherwise, it’s her story.
