Your idea of geo-portal travel, disguised to the world as a set of steps and an airplane fuselage is a good one.
Those jets roaring up the runways had me fooled, and I marvel at the fact they, the portal porters, have finally mastered the re-alignment of body cells at the other end of the portal throw ... we all remember the failed attempts, they were really cute kittens in those so called 'portal microwaves'.
