The Supreme Court ruling was not about the Trumpster, it was about the Office of the President. In 2023 President Biden ordered retaliatory drone airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia groups after three U.S. service members were injured in a drone attack in northern Iraq. Should he be charged for that? In 1982 the Court said a President has absolute immunity from civil suits for acts within the “outer perimeter” of his duties. This builds on that. Also conveniently left out are the existing powers of the Legislative and Judicial branches of Government to check a President. Like impeachment. From a political standpoint a new President won't be able to prosecute a predecessor (like the Trumpster said he might do) and won't have to worry that the same may happen to him. Not that that would ever happen.

So the Trumpster's case is sent back to the lower court with instructions to break out actions that were official vs. any that were not.

I hope he was able to get a good bath after his swim, because when Franklin was young the Thames was more like a sewer than a river.

With the questionable Supreme Court ruling heralding perhaps a return of Germany's 1930's style politics, you all need to elect a president worthy of the title.

I remember my mum crying when J.F.K. was shot ... nobody near America's political stage would invoke that reaction from my mum now.

My mum wept ... and we didn't live anywhere near the USA.

Everybody I know ... everybody ... laughs at Trump, and at Biden.

America, you are so much better than this.

In the 'Universal Beliefs' article they talk about NASA getting the idea of a countdown to launch from a movie, to make their launches more dramatic.

Maybe reading out the countdown on television makes it more dramatic for the pubic, but countdowns serve an actual purpose--for record keeping. The launch is time=0, and all events recorded after that are in reference to that time. In effect, they do count up, after the launch (just not out loud on camera). The earlier countdown is recording the negative time going down as they approach the launch time of 0. Specific events are required to occur at specific times (t-3 minutes, t-1 minute, etc).

(Yes, I have been involved with launching things into space, though never astronauts).
